Our Discord is home to a general community for most everything creative and fun.
You don’t have to be an active reader to chat: we enjoy many more hobbies than just comics!

Just to name a few...

Creatives of all mediums can post their works, streams, ads, resources, and more! We love to see creative growth, especially through networking. As such, you'll find that we have dedicated channels for working together and learning from one another.

Last but not least, we are an open and safe environment for LGBTQIA+ discussions (labeled “QuILTBAG” on the server). You'll find uplifting support from the members of our server. The diverse casts of our comics contribute with representation of their own!

With an ever-growing community, we lack the time and energy to do everything with open arms to the public despite our desire to do so. Our solution? The Affiliate Creator role on our Discord. It marks users that we will often go to first for collaborative or feedback needs.

Community Banners

Our banner is a carousel of seasonally themed artwork, submitted by the community! We announce a new themed prompt 3 weeks prior to the start of each season.

Current prompt: bees
We provide plenty of reference materials, but you may ask for more if necessary!
All banners can be found on our fanart page!

Use !submitbanner in #foxglove-fanworks to submit your banner. Each artist is credited in our #welcome channel while their banner is in use. New banners will be used at the start of the season and get at least twice as much time as old banners from previous years. Out-of-season submissions will be seen the following year.

Please keep these restrictions in mind:

You must:
✅Stick to the theme of the season.
✅Include our mascot, Foxglove.
✅Provide a 960x540 pixel resolution image. Keep in mind that the top 150 pixels are overlaid by Discord’s UI. Use our template to help!
✅Provide a PNG, JPG, or GIF file.

You may:

👍Ignore the current prompt, if you wish to do something else matching the season.
👍Collaborate with others, even if you submit a banner yourself.
👍Animate it, as long as it is no longer than 5 seconds.
👍Include any of our comic characters or anyone in our team.

You must not:
❌Include any other IP in the banner, since we don’t have the rights to use them!
❌Include our logo or the text “Foxglove Comics”, as that would be redundant with Discord's UI.
❌Submit multiple banners per season. That wouldn’t be fair to others!
❌Exceed the max file size of 10MB.

We reserve the right to not use your banner if it:
🚫Breaks or skirts our rules.
🚫Is considerably low effort.
🚫Has poor image quality. (E.G. difficult to see, photo flash, blurry, etc)

Some things we've learned that make a good banner:
🌺Don't make your elements too small. As a banner, small details are impossible to see!
🌺Don't spend a million years on rendering details. No one will notice!
🌺It's better to have a few large and visible elements that you focus on.
🌺Use the template linked above, lest an important detail or character gets covered by the UI.
