Secret Santa is a traditional gift-exchange game!
If you sign up, you will be randomly assigned as someone else's Secret Santa when names are drawn. As a Santa, it will be your job to get them a gift from their wishlist without them knowing who you are.
Since anonymous gifting is harder through the internet — especially if you're an artist — the traditional anonymity rule has been tweaked. Keep things a secret, but you may reveal yourself when giving your gift if you wish.
Gunny Waffle hosts this event exclusively on our Discord, where it is open to all. We exchange art and digital gifts with a guarantee that if you give a gift you will receive one, no matter what.
Hosting this event has always brought us such joy, and we hope to bring joy to all!

Everyone that registers is a Santa! That means you give a gift and will receive one as well.
To participate in this gift exchange as a Santa, you must create an account at Sneaky Santa. (Consider donating to them, as they make this event possible every year!)

Sneaky Santa
Through our Sneaky Santa group, you are able to:
Populate your wishlist, with any additional details or links you wish to provide.
Message your recipient anonymously, in case you have questions.
Gunny can restrict pairings when drawing names, to ensure comfort in participating.
For Your Comfort
If you are uncomfortable with any of the other Santas, Gunny can accommodate. Just contact him directly and he can make sure that you won't get paired with them when names are drawn. No questions asked and your request will be kept secret.
Elves
If you wish to donate a gift, you can be an Elf! Be it a video game, artwork, gift card, or more!
Donations provide us with a safety net, in case a Santa has to back out or a mistake is made.
If we ever need an Elf’s help, Gunny will select one from our roster and reach out. Only then will your donation be requested.
You can become an Elf at any time by contacting Gunny directly to discuss your options. There is no need to be a Santa, but Santas can be elves too!
Should it be possible, your donation can be given to the Santa anonymously.
Rules for Gifts & Gifting
Gifts can only be digital goods, nothing physical. We cannot be responsible for distributing personal information like names and addresses.
The mandatory budget is $10-$50 USD. If you are making something, a good rule of thumb is to spend about 5 hours on it.
Stay within budget. There is some leniency due to taxes and whatnot, but landing well outside the budget may be met with a ban from all future community events. Generosity is great to see, but not at the cost of devaluing everybody else’s gifts. We also don’t tolerate intentionally giving as little as possible just to get a gift yourself. Communicate with Gunny directly if there are issues. He can help!

We validate all wishlists to make sure they are populated correctly and with only valid items. Gunny will contact you directly if something needs to be fixed.
If you are having trouble or are unable to give what is requested, then please contact Gunny and he can figure things out. He’s here to help and you are in no way a hindrance for asking! Open communication is important, so please contact him as soon as possible, especially if you need to drop out! There is no shame in backing out if you need to.
The Gift Exchange
Gifts will be exchanged December 28th onwards. Don't worry about being late! The exchange lasts for a few days to accommodate time zones, as this is a global event. We know you are dying to give right away, but please wait until Gunny announces that the exchange has begun.
Failure to give a gift without warning may result in being banned from all future community events. That may seem harsh, but with money involved, it's unfair to leave someone hanging without a word. Communicate with Gunny directly if there are issues. He can help!

How to Give Your Gift
There are several ways to give your gift once the exchange starts on December 28th:
Give your gift publicly in the #secret-santa channel. BUT we must take turns, so DM Gunny and wait until he tells you it’s your turn!
Give your gift privately in DMs.
Give your gift anonymously via Sneaky Santa message. (DM Gunny if you do this, as not everyone checks their inbox.)
Give your gift anonymously through Gunny. DM him the gift and he will give on your behalf, optionally with a message of your making.
If you are unable to give your gift during the exchange, please contact Gunny and he can give on your behalf OR — with substantial proof of a gift — you may give it yourself at a later date if you wish.
PLEASE let Gunny know if you receive your gift in private, so that he can mark your Secret Santa as complete.
