It’s been nearly a year since Bheckadee joined our collective back in October 2024 with her webcomic, Circus Animals, yet it feels as if Bheck has always been here with us as a Foxglove Comics creator! The creators of Moumantai Motherf★ckers feel much the same, as we’ve been close friends with htfcuddles and Russet for several years now. In fact, when we created the #community-comics channel in our Discord in December 2023, htfcuddles was among the first to start posting there! In Russet’s case, he has actually been a member of our staff for two and a half years as a helping hand, since June 2023. So when we posted a teaser hinting at a new comic joining our ranks, it’s no surprise that so many folks in our community guessed MMF within minutes.

Unable to settle on just one thing to master, htfcuddles prefers a “jack of all trades” lifestyle. It took years for him to settle on art as his primary focus, picking up hobbies and interests along the way. Encouraged by his parents, he initially tried his hand at law. Unable to find joy let alone interest in the field, he moved on. Years later he began studying computer science, which met the same fate; although it did become an enjoyable hobby of his. As a daily driver of Linux, he loves computers and software – it’s just not what he wanted to dedicate his life to. It was while he was studying to become an analyst programmer that he began to burn out and took a serious look into being an artist. Afterall, he always loved to doodle comics, so why not explore art?

Unlike his previous attempts at establishing a career, htfcuddles dove into art without taking any formal classes and as a result he is entirely self-taught, unless you count the art class he was rejected from when he was 6 years old. Thankfully, that did not dissuade him from pursuing art as an adult! It didn’t take long until he was able to finance himself by doing commissions and it has been his primary source of income ever since.

A significant portion of htfcuddles’s art style comes from one of his biggest inspirations, Japanese Kemono art. Other influences include Pokémon, Evangelion, Happy Happy Clover, Jewelpet, Hamtaro, and Moomin, and the Metal Slug series for its backgrounds. As for comics, htfcuddles grew up reading those made by other Chilean artists, such as Themo Lobos ("Mampato y Ogú") and Vicar ("Ramón"). It was htfcuddles’s love for comics as a medium that led to him making his first webcomic around 2007-2008. It featured a pink squirrel-like alien who wanted to take over the world, accompanied by a cast primarily composed of copyrighted characters such as an eevee. For the most part it was an edgy attempt at making observational comedy and political commentary. After a while interest waned in creating that kind of content and he abandoned the comic project.

Unfortunately, htfcuddles’s journey through education, career exploration, and art was anything but smooth. He was troubled by chronic depression for several years and frequent burnout. Significant life events were not helping him recover either. Despite finding new hobbies and a career in art, he found himself burdened by the mental tolls of his journey. Music became a catalyst for staying focused and not losing himself to his depression. He found metal music to be a special kind of magic for him, empowering him when he let it become a part of himself. Music had always been a part of his life, but it wasn’t until the early 2010s did it dawn on him how important it was to him. A decade later, in the middle of Covid, Moumantai Motherf★ckers began as a love letter to all the bands that inspired and helped him. Combining music with comics returned the love he once had for art, putting a stop to his significant burnout. MMF became a major source of joy for him, along with the support of his friends.

Sporting a magnificent goatee, Russet writes his stories from the comfort of his UK home. Having worked at a rare books library for 12 years, he now leads a team at a university in London. Always eager to assemble words, he has been writing passionately for over two decades, be it stories, scripts, tabletop rpg campaigns, boring work documentation, or general guidance. He especially adores running tabletop games, so much so that he always has multiple campaigns in flight at once – quite possibly too many of them at once! But he can’t resist crafting stories and guiding his players through them. If you’d like to listen to his group of tabletop friends have a good time, all of their sessions are recorded and made available on their tabletop website, Artooki.

Russet’s main focus in life has been ConFuzzled, a rather large furry convention held annually in the UK that he has been attending for the past 14 years, since 2011. He began doing volunteer work for the convention the very next year in 2012, working in registration and the dealers den for a year. From there, he was promoted to Associate Director and spent 6 years working alongside the Directors to help grow the convention. When ConFuzzled’s long-time Chairman retired in 2019, Russet was elected Director. Six years have passed with Russet at the helm of the convention he loves. After 12 years of helping to run ConFuzzled, Russet’s fantastic journey is coming to an end with his retirement as Director in 2025, though he will continue to volunteer for the convention. He aims to devote his energy to other projects such as Moumantai Motherf★ckers! He also intends to make sure that Gunny behaves himself, maybe even convince him to take off the Christmas hat once in a while. (Writer’s note: nuh uh, can’t make me)

Russet and htfcuddles first met sometime in 2010 or 2011 as distant acquaintances, with Russet enjoying htfcuddles's work from afar. However, during an Avali meetup at Furality in 2021, they connected and began talking frequently. Much like the primary theme of their comic, the two soon became fast friends and found family. Having fallen in love with Moumantai Motherf★ckers, Russet wrote a fanfic set in the comic’s universe which has since been adapted to be canon material, now known as Voyages of the Odyssey. It’s hosted on their website alongside the comic, where you can read it right now!

In August 2023, htfcuddles asked Russet to be his official co-writer for MMF. Together, they used Voyages of the Odyssey as a medium to explore and plan out the lore for Moumantai Motherf★ckers. This enabled them to tell their story the best they can, with a rich and believable universe. Russet’s co-writer responsibilities also includes a never-ending war against htfcuddles’s misuse of in and on, due to the two words being the same word in Spanish. With a shared passion for developing the story and their combined skills, MMF has flourished and reached new heights. Russet has even changed his fursona’s base form to that of a Sleriki, a slime-based species from their comic!

To find more of their works, or to read their comic, pay a visit to MMF’s page on our website. If you would like to support Moumantai Motherf★ckers, please consider becoming a patron of theirs on their brand new Patreon. For now, there is only a single tip jar tier. Foxglove Comics staff will help them flesh out their Patreon with new tiers and rewards as soon as possible!

In the meantime, tune in and enjoy! Moumantai Motherf★ckers is sure to rock your world!
